• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Can you imagine the Spurs fans if they lose to that shower 😂
Wouldn't surprise me if Spurs lost to them, it's what they are good at. Southampton only win is against Everton, another bunch of serial under achieving losers.

It is funny mind that people itk seem to think that the manager of the team rock bottom of the league could be sacked soon.

If he’s still there they’ll beat us just like Wiggy did under Martinez. They are significantly better than us, and that is one he will fire himself up for. I hope he’s gone by then. Dead man walking.

Enemy of my enemy is my friend type thing. People rightly hated Levien and Kaplan, so they enjoyed Martin airing the laundry out and looked past his negligent tactics and suicidal approach.

Very much the case.

Perhaps the only meaningful contribution Jake Silverstein made was publically calling him out on his nonsense, which naturally led him to be shouted down.

It wasn't nonsense. It was everything Potter and Cooper had been saying before him, except they did it via "off the record" briefings to local journos.

Was Martin naive by going public with it? Probably.

But he was just telling the truth. The club was being run by fuckwits. (Not that it really needed confirming, mind you)

At no point in his two years here did Russell Martin need more "backing". He just needed to use what he already had properly, something which was obvious to a lot of the fans and clearly obvious to the owners. The squad he had could have been a lot more competitive than he was making it look, something more than demonstrated by that last ten or so games when we finally stopped fucking around and playing properly.

Going public just made him look like a petulant, arrogant little prat desperate to blame anyone and anything else for the continual failure of his chosen style of play, a theme we've seen consistently repeated with him ever since.

Still, it got him the Southampton job and the chance to make an arse of himself to a much wider audience.

Bang on the money this

But both are possible scenarios, it’s not a case of one or the other.

Club run poorly in the areas of recruitment and appointments, absolutely.

Crap one dimensional manager who was too stubborn to see his own flaws, absolutely.

His position is literally untenable shirley . But to potentially be the side that gets him the boot....I'd fvkn love that. That run of 1 win in 20 odd games that cost us a play off place mustn't be forgotten.
Poetic justice after making us sit through that shit he served up on a regular basis for two seasons 😂

When he was manager here my wife called 999 seven times during games only to cancel when she heard me snoring.

I never said it was one or t'other.

It's not me you should be accusing of black and white thinking.

I've never had a problem with the idea that he is a flawed coach, especially defensively, and overall he underwhelmed during his time here. It's the ones that can't accept Martin might just have got some things right while he was here, and a refusal to countenance that there were some mitigating circumstances for his failure, are the ones with the problem.

We had a 17.9m black hole you peanut, I've already stated this.. these league one wages bollocks is just not true.. we've also spent 8+ million since Williams has been here.. I don't know what you all want when 30+ million has been flushed down the drain in the last 4 years
