It's the ones that can't accept Martin might just have got some things right while he was here, and a refusal to countenance that there were some mitigating circumstances for his failure, are the ones with the problem.
There's not much point getting one or two things right if the things you are getting wrong are utterly avoidable. If anything that makes it worse. Having the potential to do so much better yet steadfastly refusing to do so.
Martin is not an idiot. Even now I don't doubt that he's well aware of the problems he had here and is currently having at Southampton and how he could prevent a lot of them, but to do so would be to admit failure. His ego simply won't allow that.
Much like his ego simply won't allow any kind of public acknowledgement that he bears responsibility for it. Hence players (and now his own supporters it would seem) getting thrown under the bus with monotonous regularity. He's a complete narcissist.
