• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Used to play that in College, 30 in the class all playing Doom. Lecturers didn't have a clue in those days :D

Yep used to play the original Doom, PC version too, at the time it was superb. Played that in our lunchtime at work, oops I said that out loud 😀

Monty, do you remember a Indiana Jones PC game, wherby you had to follow clues and riddles.
Can't remember the actual name.🤔

I thought maybe you were talking about the previous game, based on the Last Crusade movie:

Both made by LucasArts during the golden age of point and click games (as was Monkey Island which was probably why it reminded Monty of it). The Monkey Island games, Day of the Tentacle, Full Throttle, Sam and Max Hit the Road, Grim Fandango. Stone cold classics and some of my favourite games of all time.

There is a brand new Indiana Jones game coming to the new Xbox soon. Bethesda released this teaser a week ago.

My absolute favourite game was Elite. I spent so many hours playing that that I just couldn't get killed. It's been updated since for PC, and now looks a lot flashier.

I loved Elite on the Spectrum. Later got the sequel Frontier for the Amiga. Not as good.

There's a new version out now, Elite Dangerous which I haven't played.

It'll be interesting to see what kind of game that is. 2 of Bethesda's most recent releases have been the new Doom games (let's not talk about Fallout76) and Machinehead are behind the newer Wolfenstein games. Basically I can't see this being a point and click sequel to Fate of Atlantis!
