Russell Martin gave a spiky reaction to questions on the whereabouts of left wing back Nathanael Ogbeta at Rotherham yesterday. Ogbeta has been limited to very little first team exposure since his arrival from Shrewsbury in January and his lack of inclusion has been somewhat bemusing to fans. Ryan Bennett...

From what little I saw of him, I thought he looked exactly what we need, a pacy left wing back who can cross a ball.
I know Martin sees him every day in training, but how is he going to prove himself if he's never given a chance? Shouldn't Martin be working intensively on him to get him up to speed?
I really don't like Martin's attitude on occasions.

Not keen on his comments at all to be honest.

Saying players are "not in our model" is not a positive in any aspect. Maybe he's fed up of the questions but he's got a job to do regardless.

Did you see the interview Risc? Spiky to say the least

I haven’t actually seen it mate no, just read via your article. He’s got no excuses this season, he’s got the LWB he’s wanted in Sorinola and frozen out a player who atleast looks like he has a bit of pace about him in Ogbeta.

Why doesn't he field all the stiffs who need a chance in the Caribou Cup on Aug 9? Nobody gives a stuff about that competition.

Ditto. Quite poor IMO.

I suspect he knows the pressure is on him after getting more grace last season than almost anyone ever has.

He's the head coach who doesn't coach, but he can talk fairplay

I said as much in my thread yesterday after seeing the interview, came across very passive aggressive and tetchy.

Sometimes as a coach you need to work with the hand that you are dealt, the fact of the matter is that Matty can play on the right and we have zero right wingbacks at the club at the moment.

This would make room in the squad for Manning and Ogbeta, does he honestly believe that Lati is better as a right wingback with zero pace, zero trickery, zero delivery than switching Matty to the right and playing Manning on the left?

McFayden left and Naughts right for me. Darling to go into the middle with Cabango and Wood/Lati either side.

Noticed Martin and the coaches travelled on a separate bus to the players don’t think he done that last season, abit strange I think
