Suprised no one has questioned why Bianchini wasn't on the bench last night.

Looking at the depth it's clear we need to loan out academy players.

At moment and if all players are fit I see it as and not in any order, and my choice:

Vig, Key, Cabango, Burgess, Tymon, Widell, Galbraith, Franco, Inoussa, Ronald, Vipotnik

Bench:

Fisher, Fulton, Lissah, Santos, Wales, S Parker, Cooper. Cullen.

Defo need more depth on bench. Starting line up I actually really like. We just need more sharpness and add more emphasis on attack.

Squad depth is a concern. This is where we need to be broadening our net for foreign players around 22yrs of age, players who have been playing regular first team football and available for modest fees and wages.

I'm guessing we have 2 or 3 slots still available for non WP players so there is wiggle room to do this.

Off Subject - Personally I think going in for a loan for let's say an academy player with another club is what we don't need. As our youth shown last night. I agree with you we need to be looking at players in the age group who has first team football experience 👍👌

Totally agree - while we've made a good start to the early part of the window, we are still at least 3-4 players short. Full back cover both sides, another CM (to make sure Fulton's game time is limited) and another striker.

Didn't you hear Fulton is now a Defender 😅😅😅. If any criticism towards Sheehan it would be that Fulton shouldn't of come on and instead a youth player playing with the experienced squard might of benefited. With Lissah to come back after injury to ankle and Eom and Cabango, we need more on bench. With 3 players possibly going as well in Bianchini, Yates And Ginnerly. At present and I have been for them to go, it might not be right time to move them on.

Definitely move them on - but have targets ready to go to replace them, and be ready to pull the trigger on those targets as soon as the vacancy becomes open.

Indeed.
Arsenal brought on two 15 year olds against AC Milan yesterday.
Our mentality towards youth has been poor for a long time.

In Sheehan's defense:

Cabango was deemed not to risk him but he should be back on the grass today
Santos landed awkwardly and was brought off as a precaution rather than risk aggravating anything in a meaningless friendly
Lissah twisted an ankle and wasn't risked

Arthur Parker it was clearly decided would play the last 20 minutes with the academy products to give them some first team experience and exposure

Who else was he going to bring on a center half?
Should he have dusted off the shin pads and cleats and come on himself?

It is comforting to see that we are a couple of players short BEFORE we start to look at the loan market. This should allow us to focus on 1 or 2 high quality youngsters who are difference makers.
in past years we have been trying tom speculate on cheaper loanees and hope to get lucky.

I agree on this point
We haven't actively promoted or brought through youth for better part of a decade

Rodon and Roberts were the only real exceptions, McBurnie and James were almost the finished article already when we brought them in from other academies

Cabango, Cullen, Ollie Cooper might not have reached the qualities of the players you have quoted but they are still recruits from an academy to regular first team duty that had its budget decreased post PL relegation, let alone a large raft of staff leaving.
