Wayne Routledge and Viktor Gyokeres scored the goals as the Swans eased into the 4th Round of the FA Cup this afternoon against a Stevenage side who put up a good account of themselves but ultimately were unable to break the...

I'm not sure it's fair to say that very few of the fringe players showed that they are ready to step up to first team contention. If you put 1 or at most 2 into a team with the other 9 or 10 all being those among the regular starting 11 group, they will play much better because they will have a fully functioning, well oiled cohesive team around them but throw 7 or 8 together and it's never going to happen and that's precisely what we saw today. Ben Davies, for example, was thrust into a brilliant team due to the injury to Neil Taylor and slotted in well but even now as a Spurs regular, I'm not convinced he'd have looked too impressive if he'd started instead of, say, Cameron Evans in that team this afternoon because they all looked like nobody knew what anybody else was going to do and that's not a team.

That 'type ' of performance was always on the cards with those changes. It's just has to be classed as a job done. Through to next round and no injuries. I wouldn't spend to long analysing it. Personally I'm not bothered bout a long cup run , match practice for the fringe boys is all it is.
That said, well done Coops....another win !.
