Spent most of my working life in Turkland , met up with a Furnace resident this week , a tidy fella .

He is on the picket line , the residents are tamping , I did agree with him , Llanelli is not a dumping ground .

I hope the honest people of that area win their fight against a sell out Stradey Park Hotel management who took the money . Then sacked the loyal staff , now chaos follows .

I was talking to someone who lives close to the site earlier and while he was obviously pleased with the outcome, he was very critical of how the genuine and valid concerns of local residents were almost completely hijacked by the usual far right rentaprotesters who pop up whenever someone mentions immigrants. So much so that he consciously stepped back from any active involvement for fear of being associated with them. It’s a shame but I’d guess that happens a lot. And as you said, these rentaprotestors will undoubtedly be claiming credit for this decision now.

I have connections to the area and joined one of the FB groups at the start. When VoW popped up I made one single post asking the group to think long and hard about allowing VoW to infiltrate the group. I was immediately banned from posting and blocked, I never posted again and followed the genuine action committee from a distance. After the news today the loudmouths have gone straight to social to tell scumbag lefties to crawl back under their rock. I assume they’re referring to the likes of me. There is absolutely no doubt in my mind the while I support the residents and the sacked staff in their pursuit of answers and fairness this protest has been an absolute joy for the racist infiltrators.
