Would you rather Martin's or the players ?

That is an assumption the players went against orders yesterday and played what they felt natural to them.

Would you rather stick to the plan / coaching/ orders and keep more possession, possibly become a better / tighter unit , at a risk of mistakes at back etc or let players use their natural instinct, kick long , clear the ball even if into empty space, and win a match ?

Short term pain, ,be kept on, manager loves you, hopefully long term gain or

Short term gain, probably be dropped / replaced for possible long term gain.

I think we will revert to Martin's way.

Other way of playing are available... plans A, B C and possibly D.

I didn't see the game, but do you think that we played a direct ball to get that goal? If so, I'm happy with that. These first few games are the same as pre-season.

I was very happy to see us taking less needless risks at the back in the game and surrendering some possession due to the makeshift back line, the lack of training time Martin's had with them&the fact that Martin still wants more players more suited to the out and out Martin death by passing style.

The game was still very entertaining though&I enjoyed our performance so I'd be happy if we kept this balance or something similar to it (or even improving on it).

The players will have to play the managers way, or else what’s the point in having a manager? He wanted to keep ball better in the second half, other than that it was his way. Too much is being made of this.

It was nothing like Cooperball as some have claimed. We didn’t retreat to the edge of our box when we took the lead and we didn’t aimlessly hump it back to Brizzle at every opportunity, we just made a few more long clearances than the manager would have liked.

Absof***inglutely. What the hell is wrong with people? Do they really want us to go back to that garbage? If so, plenty of spaces 40 miles east to watch it.

Talking of style of play, I see the scummers are following the same old, same old. Get the ball lofted into the box with crosses or long throws and let the tall donkeys get a head on it.
Out centre backs will need to be on their toes when we meet them, but I'm hoping Martin will have further refined our approach by then and we just won't let them touch the ball to cause any damage.

Under this coach I'm convinced we'll get there. I'm sure the players have license to make a clearance, or go long if there are no options on - at which point there would likely be a review/analysis/inquest(!) during the following days. Once the persistence to play out, with players providing options becomes second nature (as it was in the distant past), then all will be good under the hood given time, support, patience etc..

I think some of the "longball" was part of the plan, they must have known Brizzies style, hence bringing in Bidwell with long in the first half, as stated we didnt drop back to our area once in front, and I think some of those long clearances were due to tiredness and perhaps deep down desperation for a result .

whatever, it was a great result and performance, i admit I for one was expecting a defeat. such is football huh?

They were trying to play Martin's way but
New players
New style
New combinations
Last minute (day) changes to team selection and positions
Players not fit enough
Three games in a week for some
Manager in post for 2 weeks.
A very busy opposition
But it was a deliberate and planned mutiny the won it.🙄

I don't believe for one minute that the players deliberately played against Martin's orders, as if there was some sort of mutiny. I think they simply lost their bottle a bit and stopped playing. If they did go against orders, some of them will be spending time on the bench. Good. It was clear the way we lost control of the game in the second half, that that's not how we should play. And that's not how the manager wants us to play. On another day, against a more clinical side, we could have lost that game in the second half. It wasn't as bad as camping on the edge of our box, a la Cooper, but it wasn't good.
