Summer Transfer Window

Luka Jovic.
Even if we could afford his wages, he's scored a grand total of 16 goals over the last 6 seasons.

Cullen has 30 goals in that same time, Yates has 65, Vipotnik has 48.

Different standards of leagues obviously but Jovic only had one prolific season at Frankfurt, which got him his move to Real Madrid. He scored 3 goals in 51 games for them and has been very mediocre in Italy ever since

Despite his awful scoring record over the past 6 seasons, he's apparently got some big-money offers on the table, including some La Liga clubs, so he's definitely out of our league.

I'd like another technically competent under 20 international from Europe, like Piroe was
Mark Guiu type, Wales might be it next season, don't see him quite that ready this season
Lots of scoring potential and good movement etc
Loan is OK
Any names out there?

Danny Ings, Oli McBurnie, Rhian Brewster, Paco Alcacer (would be my pick if we could interest him)
All are pretty unrealistic imo. McBurnie a maybe but wages for all of those would be difficult. I can see us going for someone along the lines of Inoussa, unproven but with good attributes that give them a good chance of success.

Definitely unrealistic but I’m still hoping for that WOW signing.

All gone quiet on that front hasn't it. Think some people may have overplayed their hand with their "ITK" links there....... Was a bit of fun throwing names around though :ROFLMAO:

Danny Ings, Oli McBurnie, Rhian Brewster, Paco Alcacer (would be my pick if we could interest him)
Ings: 5 goals in his last 70 games
McBurnie: 34 goals in his last 194 games
Brewster: 9 goals in his last 119 games

I wouldn't count any of them as a wow signing. All would want huge wages and are no better than what we've already got at the club

Think I saw something about Ings to Boro yesterday. Makes sense, wages would be more affordable for them than us.

I think we’d be better off going for a Piroe type signing personally. If we go for a “proven” name who needs higher wages and if fails, we’ll just be stuck with them. We’ve had enough drain on our wages recently, adding little value to the squad.

Nearest we have to a Piroe type is Wales, who technically is reckoned to be good
Piroe was interesting because he had no club goalscoring record at all in Holland
What he had were otherwise good stats, good feet, PSV pedigree and had played Dutch U20
Somebody down her ( Steve Cooper?) spotted him and he didn't need settling in time
He was scoring almost from the off - after 5 games or so anyway
Next season - being one paced - he will struggle for a game if Leeds manage to cop one of those £25m strikers they keep bidding for
Everybody's in that Piroe-type market now
Let's hope Wales settles in quickly
