If Fulton and Vipotnik leave the club this month, the hunt will be on for the next escape goat...

They're not scapegoats.

They're poor players. They stand out as poor players even at a time where, let's face it, the last few years we've been a very average football team.

I wish them no ill whatsoever as human beings, I hope they leave us and go onto success elsewhere, good luck to them and their families and whatever else. But they've been rubbish here. Don't see any problem at all in being able to say that.

For me, a player has become a scapegoat when some fans take every opportunity to slate them and can't give them any credit, even when they play well. Mark Gower was a notable instance of this years ago. Routledge followed in his footsteps.

Fulton has been in that category for a while of course, but Vipotnik somehow morphed into that position over the summer when he wasn't even playing! I'd say the general feeling at the end of last season was that he hadn't been great but was worth sticking with if we couldn't get someone else, but with 2 real matches played, he's firmly in the can do nothing right column now.

Cabango had a couple of periods like this, though in fairness for much of those periods he was not helping himself and was making errors in almost every game that cost us goals.

For some unknown reason people have always needed a player to hate, even when that hatred is utterly illogical. I can remember some of the stick Jason Scotland used to get from some quarters. Jack Cork was another, also Kyle Naughton.

Fulton is and always has been a capable player. Likewise Vip certainly doesn't deserve the Aidan Newhouse type bile thrown his way from some people.

I remember the two goals Trundle scored against Peterborough, they were 1-0 up when he came on with 10 minutes left. Anyway, now 2-1 and deep into injury time Trunds tried to lob the keeper for his hat trick instead of running the clock down. They immediately went upfield and equalised

Absolutely gutted but no hard feelings, it wouldn't have been Trundle without the showboating and a bit of selfishness

However much you try Doc you'll never convince anyone the Fulton is anything but shit.

Fulton epitomises average, I certainly don’t hate him but he’s never been more than average at best.
