I'm not sure they did mind, thier keeper kept the score down whereas Benda had very little to do most of the game...

Fair. On reflection. It just seemed they were on top of us and we were defending pretty desperately. Was anyone really that confident in the ground?
At half time myself and PS agreed we needed to continue in the same vein and kill off the game.
They came out with a bit of fight and we gave them too much opportunity.
However I was confident we could hold them at bay

Even though they came into it second half we still created some really good chances, but yes, at 2-1 it could easily have gone tìts up...

Wouldn't say confident just loads of nervous energy, only cos we could possibly be on the cusp of something now. We should have been outa sight after 30 mins tbh. Those 5 points we've dropped from Stoke/ Millwall/Sheff Itd and wed be top FFS.

Supporters of every team can talk about ifs, what's and maybe's. Currently we don't deserve to be top but we're getting there. Congratulations to our manager, who obviously is certain to be Manager of the Month.

I get what you’re saying. I also agree with what others have said in that they looked a decent footballing team but looked noticeably blunt up top. We looked like we were trying to play ourselves into trouble in parts and it could have been a different game if they had their main strikers available.

But they didn’t. Hey ho!

With Piroe, I think he’s just knackered. It’s what pissed me off most about Obafemi’s pwdi - that he didn’t seem to give a fuck about the effect on his team-mates, and particularly Piroe, who’s barely had a break since the start of the season. The midweek off will do him good.

Again, it bears repeating that nobody at any point, not even Martin, has claimed that Obafemi refused to play.

The score reflected the game...but we were poor when pressurised with the goal difference. Starting the game at 0-0 the same pressure produced nought for them so why were we so porous when we had the advantage - self-pressure gentlemen, here we need to work on our mindset.

No one in the squad had a bad game but I knew we were going to ring the changes and at the time Lati was the "obvious" choice. The fact that he wasn't was not an issue the fact that we lost Cundle and didn't really have an attacking outlet was... or perhaps our self-pressure to maintain the lead had an outsized affect...but not an eventual effect, thankfully.

Either way we've had more to build on and our platform is stronger and I hope that this will affect the thinking of our opponents. get into their heads and we've won half of the battle.

It was alarmingly easy how people ripped into Obafemi (and Paterson before him) when they were left out of the team for the reasons well publicised and, at times, well exaggerated

There's a big difference between being put under pressure and being threatened.
They threatened once all game and even that was a good finish from a half chance.

If you look at the xG and the chances created we fully deserved to win that game.

Are people actually trying to spin that we won that comfortably? We would have lost that easily a few weeks ago and never once we we in control or comfortable in that second half. Sunderland’s toothless attack was the reason they didn’t take at least a point, not our play.

Not me, I was cacking it throughout the second half.

Having seen us drop points from ridiculous situations, tbh I'm not bothered how we get wins for now.

What was the xG out of interest? We could and perhaps should have been three up in real goals by 30 mins in.

I don't think anyone is suggesting we won the game comfortably, but, in my opinion, we deserved the W...
