Taking my daily dose of the Today news programme on Radio 4 this morning, I was surprised to hear the arrival of Martha Stewart to the Swans ownership group making it into the hourly News Summary.Later on the matter was discussed in detail in an interview with Rob Phillips Radio Wales ex sports editor in the context of Welsh Football and American owners.Snoop Dog and Luca Modric obviously discussed and the owners plan to emlarge the Swans Profile worldwide.
This looks like a bullseye for the owners .

I am embarrassed by my need to Google her name. Good to know its getting us discussed by those with more celeb knowledge than I possess. 👍

There is something in all this that I don’t like, but can’t put my finger on what it is.
I loved the idea at the time that we were owned by local businesses men who were fans of the club.
Wherever I was in the country I was talk proudly about our club.

I do however see that this is the way to maybe compete and raise our profile and thus funding, especially with FFP and I do love the enthusiasm of our new owners.

So I’m happy but there’s a little bit of uncomfortableness.

Watched “Martha” on Netflix a few months ago. Amazing story of her life from working class upbringing to domestic goddess, being jailed and reinventing herself and collaborating with Snoop Dogg.

Oh really? Right might give that a whirl and educate myself. Cheers 👍

I totally get that. I admit to feeling the same. I guess its how things need to be played out these days but its certainly changed from what we've grown up with.
Its going to take some getting used to.

I share your reticence and I question exactly what their true motivations are, especially if we don't get to the Prem any time soon. I wonder if interest might wane. But this is the way of the world now, it gets eyeballs on the club and eyeballs means £, and really what would be the alternative? The previous owners who couldn't have cared less if they'd tried? No thanks.

These new owners have, on the whole, given the club a lift since coming in - they're not perfect but they'll do for me, for now at least.
