• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

With Wales's qualifying for the next World Cup Finals in doubt, a return to fitness from Ricardo Santos could well see him included in Cape Verde's squad next year. Since his injury in pre-season matches he has yet to play a game for Cape Verde apart from two behind closed doors friendly games in May prior to signing for the Swans. To date, in his return to match fitness he has played forty five minutes v Bristol City and the full 90 minutes v QPR for the Swans U21 side.

Wonder if he’ll have more World Cup appearances than games for the Swans this year!

Good quiz question following on from that… Swans players who played at the World Cup whilst on our books.

Four in 2014, four in 2018 and two in 2022 from what I can find. Obviously a few in 1958 for Wales too.

(Sorry: edited 2018 from 4 to 3 and back to 4!!)

2014 - Bony, Vorm & de Guzman, was there a fourth one?
2018 - Can only think of Ki & Fabianski - did they leave before the start of the world cup? Maybe Olsson actually but definitely can't think of a fourth!
2022 - Cabango, Allen & Ntcham

I think Ki went to 2014 and 2018?
Two Swedish in 2018 - you've got one in Olsson.
Forgot about Ntcham in 2022

Ah yeah, you're right about Ki, forgot that he was with us for that long tbh! I guess the other Swede must be Nordfeldt then? Must admit I'd forgotten he was in their national squad.
