• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

The amount of people already talking about only racism is making my blood boil.
The club stated all forms of abuse which I’ve even seen on a forum today.
Some people are just scum.

Well done SCFC.
Let's hope all clubs jump on this, it might just wake up social media companies to be proactive against this sort of behaviour, because it seems they are willing to let folk get away with this type of abuse.
Personally I would like to see all accounts be more transparent, that would stop these idiots. Question is why don't they do it anyway, you sign up, with your name and address, mobile number etc. And the programmers set up systems to either filter or close accounts if abuse is dished out, don't tell me they are not capable of such censorship/action.
This type of abuse has to stop, now.
Hope the club get some positive feedback from social media companies.

Pleased but think it could also be keeping Cooper safe, not from direct abuse but from the honest comments about our hoofball and his capabilities.

Wow. As ill judged comments go that one is right up there with the best of them

The clubs following our lead are gonna feel stupid when they realise we're only doing it to take the heat off Cooper

Ouch, not one of your best posts to be honest that mate.

Crikey

Commendable move by the club. Credit to Birmingham and Rangers too.

Twitter and Facebook won't give a sh*t about Swansea boycotting social media, however if the other more prominent clubs also joined in (Liverpool and Man Utd have had plenty of racist abuse to their players too in recent months) then that might make the social media fat cats sit up and take notice.

Nobody’s going to give a sh*t about it.
Nearly all the abuse is through anonymous accounts.

Better to do something though. It’s about stating your principles. Hopefully a few of the knuckle draggers in our fanbase, of which there is hefty number demonstrated the many arguments over the issue on our previous platform, will take note and stop justifying racism by watering it down just because it suits them to say something is not racist. The prejudices run deep and this past year in particular had been a real eye opener.
