Swansea City Fans Lose Faith as Alan Sheehan Faces Growing Pressure Over Poor Form

People have short memories. It was THIS year under the 'leadership' of Williams that our team became a laughing stock and a guaranteed three points for anyone who came up against them. The job Sheehan did in steadying the ship and turning our team into a competitive unit deserves some respect.
Yes, we are all frustrated that we haven't quite yet found the right blend, particularly since we seemed to have signed some very exciting players in the summer and hopes were high, but I note we are still very competitive, very tight at the back, and the issue now for Sheezy is to get the forward players firing on all cylinders. Will he do it? I don't know, but nothing is ever easy with the Swans. Give the man more time.

Its articles like this when I lose faith in Swans fans sites.

Can we do better, yes we can. We played well yesterday and hopefully we will improve.

A lot of fans were not happy with Alex Ferguson during his first year in charge at Man Utd, just imagine if the owners bent to fragile impatient fans during that first year and sacked him.

The worse thing with this article is the title "Swans fans" as if the person who wrote the article was speaking for all of us, he isn't.

I'm not losing faith, far from it. Some of the greatest managers and coaches went through some very difficult times before finding the right formula that led to the followed up success. He's a young coach and he's finding the right blend and formula that will lead this club to succees. The problem is as I've said before that we want our football in a fast food style and if we don't get it then sack him. Want then happens is we go looking for a manager who is usual on the merry-go-round anyway to fix the problem. Guess what, you find the new guy is no better than the previous guy right? Right!

We are at the start of November and 5pts off the playoffs and you say the fans are losing faith. What is true is the fans are no longer listening to the media anymore because most of the stuff they realise is B.S. Most of the fans I interact with understand it doesn't happen over night and the media promotes and dictates what the fans want that is not actually true! You use the "fans" as Though "you are" speaking and representing all fans but that's how the media works and the fans know it. Hence, the fan media followers are dumping media input because they got wise to what they are up to. When I said media and are referring to all forms of media. The media have the right to report but honest reporting has gone down the toilet. When using headlines as though you speak on behave of all fans then you mislead them and are deluding yourself. The delusion here is "The fans are losing faith" but that is not the case. Yes a few grip and complain but that's because they are the experts and pay attention to the media. Most say they are fans, but the truth is, they are not but the just want to write a story. Often they create a division among the supporters that don't help the club at all. Managers and coaches and end up6on the merry-go-round because of a bias in the media reports! I'm all for those fans who are dumping social media and the media as a whole becausr they realise what the media do! The fans are not stupid but the media waves its magic wand and dictate what thing are or should be. The truth is, the media does more harm than good, or haven't you woken up to this global fact yet?! If you got nothing positive to say about the club as a whole then go and write about the government where there lots of negativity there you can dig out and guess what, you'll find its all true!!
A lot of this makes sense. However…….. he continues to pick eom, Cullen and Fulton - all 3 offer very little at all and have had plenty of chances. Some of our previous players didn’t get anywhere near that many chances before being shipped out and doing well elsewhere.
I want my team to be set up to WIN the game not set up not to LOSE. It’s the most hideous style of football. Can Sheehan change ? I’m not convinced.

Eom is in rotation with Inoussa so maybe only gets picked half of the time. Cullen and Fulton apart from the preseason have mainly been relegated to a back up role. So I don’t really understand that argument

Charlton fans all seem to be commenting we were the best side to visit the valley this season to date, we need more goals but at least we are actually shooting for goal. A bit calmer when in good positions and we will start scoring, i think that its starting to come together and we are certainly better than under RM and LW.
Before going any further, let's agree 2 things. Getting a point away to a team higher up the division is a good result; and (2) Charlton fans are as knowledgeable as we are, and have the benefit of being neutral when assessing us.

Inspired by Pacemaker, I went to their site and couldn't believe the difference in judgments to some of our fans:

THE CHARLTON FANS AFTER-MATCH VERDICT

“We don’t look like the home team at all.”

“They've been far better than us this 2nd half. Championship showing its quality.”

“How we’re not losing this I have no idea.”

“Surprised how dirty and physical Swansea are. Pulling the shirt of many of our players. Not sure how the ref doesn’t see it though.”

“Very fortunate to earn that point.”

“Happy with that draw, they're a good good side Swansea and they will up there in the play offs later this season.”

“Ground out that point, Swansea made it really difficult for us with their flowing attack and fierce pressing all over the pitch. Our defence had a tough game and didn’t always look up to it, but the Swans are a very good team based on the performance.”

“Not good today but Swansea looked a decent team and should have won ”

“Swansea the best team I’ve seen so far though we were struggling without Burke and Bell.
Their number 10 was running rings around our three midfielders.”

“Good point that, very poor day at the office for us, Swansea probably best team we played we couldn’t disrupt the Swansea game plan and a point was a good one today so far will climb the table. ”

So let's consider, just as a possibility, that they are right and the pessimists on this site are wrong.

Good shout Gwyn! A very decent point.
