Good Lord that squad is worrying.

Only 12 regulars, no wingers (except for Garrick and Akande who are both still not first teamers), strength defensively but weak everywhere else. Need to get a move on with or without Cooper

There are some potentially good free agents out there if we are going down that route again, Nick Powell & Alex Mowatt stand out to me.

No idea why the club seems determined to keep Routledge around.

No surprise in that only routs who could be out until the new year so pointless in my book
We really need a bit of a rebuild from cheap Eastern Europe or lower division and some youngsters are gonna have to step up .
Or will we sell one of the jewellery IE CABANGO for good money to keep us afloat and a couple of half decent signs 🤔

The one plus in needing a large squad overhaul and the parachute money running out this close season is financially we are one of the better off clubs with minimal debt. Most clubs won't be able to do much and you would imagine that due to covid and lack of cash floating around that player wage demands will be down on previous years at levels below PL.

Byers is a mystery for me.. Did nothing of note at Portsmouth in L1 still looks lethargic but is technically good. If he could add some pace and fitness to his game he could well be useful next season

Think he's been "retained" in the sense that he's still under contract and Pompey don't want him. If an offer comes in we probably won't fight that hard to keep him around.

Ok for keepers, defenders & defensive midfielders.
We desperately need creative midfielders & attackers - the sort of players that cost more unfortunately (so we'll see how that goes!!).
The absence of pace in that lot is obvious too.
I don't know enough about the youngsters in the list, any capable of stepping up next season?

Depending on who we bring in asmanager that is a very decent basic squad, if Cooper remains I'll worry.
I dare say some will still leave on transfers.

Experience i should think(he hasn't got the craic like Tommy Butler).I think he's being groomed for a coaching role theres no way a 36 year old who has just suffered a bad knee injury is staying for playing reasons.

Naughton?? dear me, the mind boggles

Definitely kept as insurance in the highly likely case that someone comes in for Roberts who is without a doubt our most valuable asset during this summer. I would expect with his age, performances and contract that we SHOULD be able to demand 15-20 million for Roberts and then rely on Naughton while beginning to blood in Rushesha.

Cabango and Grimes are the only other valuable assets that we have but I am hoping that paper talk will be just that.

Definitely kept as he's still by some distance the best pure RB at the club and one of our more reliable performers last season. Also because he signed a new contract in April.
