#1 the point at which Eom toe pokes the ball with his right foot, defender is clearly nowhere near the ball
#2 as Eom plants his right foot, defender's left foot clearly makes contact with it, ball is now 1.5m away
#3 & #4 & #5 as defender is sliding in, his momentum takes his left foot over the top of Eom's right foot, preventing him from moving it and tripping him up

Screenshots are great - but we all know away from home, in the first minute - he could have ripped Eom’s leg off and tossed it into the stands- there was no way that twat would have had the balls to make a red card decision

Liverpool game last night was another example.

Appears to be a blatant penalty in the first half for a handball, reviewed and then it's not even a free kick, let alone a penalty.

I have to disagree, Smurph. His arm had to be somewhere! He turned away, his arm was not stuck out in an unnatural position and he made no movement towards the ball with his arm. If I was reffing, I wouldn't have given that. VAR was correct.

It was a nailed on penalty for me, his arm was above his head if I remember correctly.

The issue seems to be this day and age with the handball rules which at far too complicated.

And that’s the crux of the matter. It’s a foul not matter what minute of the game.

These officials are absolute cowards upon times.

The worst aspect to that decision last night is the inconsistency.

I've watched loads of European club and international football the last few years, and basically 100% of the time, if a ball hits a defender's hand in the area it's given as a penalty. I'm not saying that's right, I don't agree with it personally, but that's the way it's been.

Even last night, in the Arsenal game, a pen was given for such an "offence".

For the ref at Anfield to be called to the screen and see the handball confirmed but then change his mind, is simply not consistent with what every other CL/EL ref has been doing in those circumstances for several seasons.

Now if the rest of the season handballs are treated like that, then fine. But they won't be. 99.9% of the time they will be given. You watch.

I agree it was a foul but disagree with the fact it would have been a red card.

Eom's first touch as usual was dreadful and the ball had got away from him so the obvious goalscoring opportunity was lost.

FOul yes. Free kick to us yes. Yellow card? Yes. At most.
