• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Very, very sad news.

I went to school with his youngest and having a friend whose dad was world champion felt quite cool. We played a lot of golf together later in our youth and I regularly met Terry through that.

My FIL has always claimed that he regularly used to beat Terry at snooker in the early 70’s, but I’m sure he has embellished that story somewhat over the years.

Very sad.
I had a chat with him several times up Briton Ferry football club when he’d be watching his son play for Porth Tywyn Suburbs.

If he'd gone out in the first round in 1979 I might've passed a couple more o levels.

Hope springs eternal.

His youngest is now a resident pro out in one of the Algarve golf complexes.

One of my favourite memories from that year. "I'm in the final now"

RIP Terry.

I remember being at the Vetch for a home game when Terry was in the final and the announcer on the PA system giving an update on the score in the final which had Terry ahead. Greeted by a huge cheer.
I suspect that was probably at half time of our game.
RIP Terry.

RIP Terry. He seemed like a nice guy. Dementia is a horrible disease, best wishes to his family and friends.

Shocking news, I knew he had been ill, but took no news as being good news, another Welsh Legend passes very sad.

RIP Terry Griffiths, God Bless

Very sad news. R.I.P. Terry
Played on a table next to him in the Star Snooker club in Neath once. Our game must have horrified him 🤣

I saw him around quite a lot until recently. He asked me to help him with his new phone a while back in Costa, I had no idea he was affected by dementia. Seemed pleasant, sad news.
