Here is a justification for this fixture (that I don't necessarily agree with).
If Bellamy sought out this fixture - he is thinking like a "bad ass
The quote "the strongest steel is forged in the hottest fire" is a common proverb suggesting that adversity and challenges are necessary to build true strength and character. While variations exist, the core idea is that difficult experiences are not destructive but refining processes, like a blacksmith's forge, that temper and strengthen individuals over time.

I admire his boldness, this fixture in my opinion isn't needed, the Canadians humbled this, I'm slightly worried about what impact a negative result could have going in the Belgium game.

Hopefully the lads prove me wrong, I quite like the taste of humble pie.
