What a waste of money.

Its not FAW funded it’s Welsh Office funded.
It’s a £1.7m fund to promote Welsh business abroad. Most of the money is contributed by the Welsh tourist Board aimed at promoting Wales to USA tourists.
It’s viewed as a sensible investment to promote Wales to the world when our global presence is at an all-time high during the World Cup.
Let’s hope our national profile brings some tourism or industrial investment to Wales.

Thanks for the clarity. Promoting Wales to potential tourists and businesses makes sense. The World Cup is a huge event and seeing as we’re playing the US it could present us with opportunities. £2m is a lot of money, but in the grand scheme of things when you consider government budgets it’s a relatively small amount and Cardiff Hay will no doubt argue you have to speculate to accumulate. That said, I’m uncomfortable with the £17k. Let’s hope our team and our fans create a very positive impression of Wales.

Dunno what all the fuss is, government's and councils have been taking our money and wasting it forever, it's nothing new is it. Swansea council have a black belt in that art.
