• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

The exciting thing for us is we were after him in January long before the hype train. If we can spot someone like that playing right back earlier than others, then who else can we spot!

So for years under the previous owners, many people complained we were signing too many duff players, and we couldn't see where the next big sale - which a club of our size needs to be able to balance the books - was coming from.

Now we have Galbraith - and potentially one or two others as well - who might have resale value, we're complaining that we need to keep it on the downlow just in case they get poached.

Come on. We can't have it both ways folks.

Of course we can, have you been here much?

At the end of the day he has lots of years left on his deal so we are in a great position. Either a Premier League club comes in for him and we get one of the highest fees we have ever received or we get to continue to enjoy watching him play for us. So far the deal has worked perfectly and hopefully we will be having the same threads about guys like Inoussa and Stamenic when they have settled and kicked on like Galbraith has done this season.

They are in a tough group but it would be great if he could top his season off with a World Cup appearance.

Pretty sure premier league teams will have a decent enough scouting network in place and won't need to read Walesonline when looking for new signings.
And yet none of them made a bid for him. We over rate how good these scouting networks are. Kudos to us for taking the chance.

That's correct. A lot of these scouting networks are lazy and rely on data rather than doing the hard miles and watching them first hand over a number of games.

The modern game is being run like a game of Football Manager and off a database of stamina, skill etc etc and all based off numbers.

Someone was going to take a punt in the Championship, it seems we did our bit in January which was enough to encourage him to sign.

At the beginning of the season I'm pretty sure he wasn't touted at being premier league level just yet. This season certainly seems to be a breakthrough one for him.

Premier League clubs don't often buy someone direct from League 1 who has no experience of playing at a higher level. We all know that with the amount of money in the PL, they're happy to wait for a club like us to buy him and then pay us more for him if he does well at this level.
Huge step up from league one in to the championship, let alone the premier league.

The so called top teams will be aware of him from his time at United.

No chance he's with us next season unfortunately

No chance, he's with us next season unfortunately.

Or

No chance he's with us next season, unfortunately.
