The Citeh dilemma

Roberts out of that side.

I’d be surprised if he throws Freeman in but you never know. I’ve got a feeling he’ll go much like the Forest team

Naughton can play there.

I'm not saying Cooper won't play him, I'm saying I'd like to see Connor given a rest.

Hamer for Freddie
Arriola probably won’t be ready so Freeman
Cooper for Grimes
Definately Whittaker instead of Andre

Hamer
Cabango - Latibeaudiere - Naughton
Roberts - Grimes - Smith - Dhanda - Manning
Morris - Lowe

Subs: Woodman, Bennett, Bidwell, Fulton, Hourihane, Whittaker, Ayew

Hamer is cup tied.

Bollocks. Play a strong team (some of last nights bench is still strong). Win the cup and get promoted.

We have Wednesday away the next league game, they are in the bottom 3. Not saying we have a right to go there and win but we aren't going to Watford or Brentford. Rotation is going to be key over the next six weeks anyway. Lots of Wednesday and Saturday games with travelling.

I think we can play a similar side to Forest.

I absolutely agree - go for glory and go down fighting. Let them know, and the television audience know, that they've been in a game.

Certainly, we have to rest our players at some point, but the time to do that is in the four EFL matches immediately afterwards because we're fortunate to be playing the next four Championship fixtures against relegation candidates - Sheffield Wednesday, Nottingham Forest, Huddersfield and Coventry. We should certainly be able to beat all of those with a weakened team.

Don't see the need for a weakened team really. Professional athletes can play 2 games a week. Ok one or two changes, but I don’t think that has to weaken us much. Rotating woodman would be daft in my mind even if Hamer wasn’t cup tied, unless we think Hamer is better.

I must admit I hadn't clocked that they had won 13 in a row to this point and conceded just 3 in that time, scoring 33

Just a mix for me of players but definitely some need a rest and we need to make that happen - protect the likes of Bennett, Guehi, Ayew, Hourihane and Grimes as much as I suspect they will all be desperate to play. Winning after all is a habit!

Didn't Bennett and Guehi pick up their 5th yellow of the season last night?
If that's the case, both will miss Citeh anyway.

We've assembled a deep squad for these types of runs.
A perfect opportunity to get some minutes into the legs of the new boys an get them used to the system. A mixture of new and established players would be the play for me.

Does it carry into FA cup games?

Dont count your chickens glyn, relegation haunted sides traditionally battle.

I agree with the sentiment of rotating and resting key players for this one. Having said that, I think it's important to remember that they're all going to want to play in this one. Both because playing the best team in the country is the kind of reward that players graft for and possibly because they've all seen how big performances in the Cup against a top team can change your career path (I'm sure United's interest in Dan James increased after the City game 2 years ago).

Lots of people pointed to Brendan rotating his Liverpool team to play in the Bernabeu and how morale in the team plummeted after it, leading to league results dipping badly.

If I was going to bet on it, I think we'll see about 3 changes from last night's starting 11, but Cooper will be using the whole of his bench during the game.
