Looks like bignose has lost his midas touch.
I think he will get them up. Not this season, no way. But give him another 2 seasons.

Whats noticeable at that level is something we all know anyway. Hoofball as per their games stats today

Total passes: Newport 250 Rovers 290
Long balls Newport 80 Rovers 70
So 1 in every 3 passes is a hoofball and 1 in 4 for Rovers

That then is also reflected in the pass accuracy stats

Newport 62% Rovers 67%

Newport will be in the National League next season

They having nothing to offer anywhere on the field and an extremely poor keeper
In big trouble.

One of the lowest budgets, huge turnover of players every summer and a new unproven manager (again).

Longer term I assume there may be issues with the ground as well if the Dragons disappear from regional rugby.

They are doing well so far. I watched a lot of their match v Port Vale and Port Vale were robbed by some poor officiating. There was at least one clear Vale goal disallowed wrongly for offside. They seem to have got a tidy coach now and a reset in a lower league is sometimes a slight blessing in disguise? The likes of Sunderland, Ipswich, Birmingham, etc have all experienced League One recently and gone on to come back stronger.
Luton (W) Wimbledon (W) and PortVale (D) were all robbed points, so there’s 5 points there they won’t be getting when their luck runs out. They’ll blag a play off place easy though, and then fark it up.

Ollie Cooper on the bench for Wigan, 2-1 down at half time

Cooper on after 86 mins.

Not enough time to impress but neat and tidy in possession as you'd expect.

Finished 2-2

Yep. Had a look at league positions for the teams they've played and I think all
Other than Luton are bottom 7/8. Two of them are 23 and 24

The 300 or so who can fit inside will all need binoculars to see the game...

Nice!

I thought Cooper could have given a better outlet at times in his cameo.

When 10 v 10 he was doing what Cullen does and not show enough for the pass and happy to recycle sideways and backwards. The Plymouth loanee for Wigan looked very good why he is at Wigan I don't know.

If there's one team which deserves nothing but abject failure, disappointment and misery, it's Cardiff. I'm hoping this spell of 'good fortune' is nothing more than a start of season blip by the other clubs in the league.

Anus Abraham can boast about being first in L1, for now. There's plenty of time left...
