Chris D the firm favourite and popular choice with ex-players and the inner core who have worked with him in the past.

pragmatic, insightful tactician, prefers winning with attacking go-fwd pacey football founded on solid defence.  a coach and manager the players, staff and fans could embrace.

the antithesis of martinball.  a breath of fresh air.

let's hope Reading don't beat us to it.

If Reading are a more lucrative proposition than us, then we really are in the shit.

Has he had a manager's role before? I fear that he could end up in the category of being an excellent number 2 to managers but not able to take a step up?

Paul Clement comes to mind.

Where did you get all that from? Any quotes or links knocking about?

Coleman addresses the gist of it for you :

Does anyone know how many clubs are looking for a manager atm? Usually all those clubs who have been relegated, those that have underperformed and have ditched their manager and those whose manager has been poached. Maybe a few others too, just wondering where we would realistically be in the pecking order.

Personally I think the pecking order is dictated by the owner's and their ambitions. If their ambitions are high and matched with the right investment then we get a quality manager but we all know what our owners are like.

We're a mid-table Championship side and so will be attractive to a lot of people. But Davies ticks a lot of the right boxes.
