Many years ago in the Liberty i am sure against Millwall or WBA we were having a minutes silence for Aberfan when some latecomers started chanting as they walked up from the concourse.

To be fair fans of both sides tried to shut them up and i think something similar happened Sunday when Kev Johns was speaking.

I don’t think anyone deliberately tries to spoil it, but with the booze in them people just don’t think.

I share your frustration, if we can't be quiet remembering the tragic loss of 116 children and 28 adults, we are losing our way.

Agree with this its pretty sad that it was a decision the club had to take

I understand the reasons but clapping for Aberfan just feels inherently wrong

Yup, I guess it was either a minute's applause or do nothing at all if they knew the clubs' fans couldn't be trusted to respect and observe a silence properly. Even though the applause option was a bit strange, it is a disaster that deserves to be acknowledged and maybe this was the only option.

Minutes applause was weird, but I interpreted the applause as "it was ages ago, and hugely significant in shaping communities, and we are proud of the resilience of our communities in moving on, not forgetting but moving on". That's my personal take on the applause.

I think it was WBA, just a couple of days after the Gleision Mine tragedy. I’ve been left with a poor opinion of WBA fans ever since.

Think it was.
Remember those yamyam w⚓️s singing some songs about a disaster during the minutes silence.

were the cardiff fans booing cos he said british disaster instead of welsh cos that's what it sounded like on the telly

No. They were booing because they are a bunch of cunts. Do you agree?
