Always liked Christopher Eccelstone as Doctor Who , he brought a sinister edge to the the role .

Some of the latest versions seem to have a comedy / slapstick feel to the productions .

He was brilliant in Sex Education. He doesn't half remind me of a mate of mine too, which gives him a bonus point in my book 😁

Surely most of them have had a comedy /slapstick feel going right back to the early days of Troughton & Pertwee?

Agree , but he took the role in a new direction , the last series was I thought at times , unwatchable .

Jodie Whitticker kept acting at 100 mph , and some of the plots lost me .

Whitaker was badly let down by the writing which was abysmal at times. With Russel T Davies returning the new bloke won’t have that problem.

Ain't watched it since Jon Pertwee's days apart from a few occasions, can't remember who played the Doctor though. Peter Davison was good.

Gone all PC daft.

There has been 14 straight white male leads, 1 straight white female lead and now a gay black lead.
Now the gammons are shrieking that they feel "under represented'.

You could not make it up!

It's all entertainment and whilst I prefer gritty documentaries or person specific documentaries I fully understand the allure of Dr. Who.
It's like star Wars/star trek to many.

Who’s shrieking? What has the sexual orientation of the actors who played Dr Who got to do with anything? It’s a fictional TV programme - not an Open University gender issues module.

Absolutely! Tom Baker was a bit of a dandy back in the day with his flowing locks and natty attire, Nobody dissected his orientation to such an extent...
Basically who cares? It's 2022 ffs 👏

I gave up with the Whitaker stuff, but in truth it's been a struggle since Capaldi

With RTD it will always be entertaining, with the bonus of pissing off most of the purists
