• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler

Now my son has a season ticket with me, there are certain types of games I want him to experience. We've seen a late winner and watched us play one of the big boys, so that's a couple checked off the list. He'll check off a derby next season.

When I think of an atmosphere at the stadium I want him to be part of sometime, the Forest playoff game is what I think of. Fingers crossed we get something like that in the future for us to enjoy together.

I don’t think that’ll ever be replicated. It was a one off. Swansea City in a play off semi to get to Wembley to play to get in the Premier League. Swansea City mind. Even if we do it again it will never generate that kind of atmosphere. Football fans have changed, Swansea’s fanbase has changed. That’s not necessarily a criticism. It just is.

The Leeds game where we went down to ten men and beat them was a cracker of an atmosphere as well. Not the same as the Forest game mind, but a belter all the same.

Everyone was in unison.. our fanbase is semi-a*sed these days.. people like to see footballers.. but the games gone.. it's all hustle and bustle, especially the championship.. Trundle, MaCleod, Robinson, Bodde, Rangel, Gomez wouldn't be the same in today's game.. athletic performance, fitness, positional tactics boards, scientifically manufactured routines.. take the FA Cup final.. the only thing worthy was the goal.. it's become dull

That's another one that sits near the top of the list. Along with beating Arsenal 3-2 in our first PL season and sitting there with a sense of disbelief that little old Swansea were playing football of that quality in front of my eyes.

Appreciate ECB's point that it's unlikely we'll get another night quite like the Forest game, and a night like that Arsenal game is even more unlikely today. We could certainly get something like the Leeds game again. The Wrexham game was probably the closest we got this season.

We did it again in front of a socially distanced 3,000 and hardly anyone noticed. Amazingly Grimes scored a screamer. The final was shit that time too.

I fucked my knee that night celebrating getting it caught in the seats

After Wembley I fucked the other one

Safe standing my arse ?

Yes.....absofuckinglutely !!!

That Leeds game was something! Bodde sent off after an incident with a young Johnny Howson but we still beat them
3-2.

Surprised nobody has commented on some great games during the Toshack era and were they better than some of the games during the PL era as far as atmosphere is concerned. What it does show and prove is that you can never discount it happening once more.

The first game of the semi final up at Forest was also a great performance, 0-0 after going down to 10 men very early in the first half.
