My father has kept a diary since his teens and sent this clipping over from 40 years ago today…nice to see!

I remember that game at Highbury. Looking at the scorers in the other games brings back memories - Eric Gates for Ipswich and Frank Worthington for Birmingham. Garth Crooks too.

Some pretty dire attendances there. The obvious exception the Manchester Derby.

Where Kevin Reeves scored.

Him and Francis minced us up at Maine Road too.

Great warm memories of that season. Moreso than the inflated prem. I was at Highbury as had moved to the smoke. Had 3 mates up and kipping in my crap single room. Totally rat arsed and the look on the taxi drivers face when we said 'Peckham' at about 2am. "You must be fucking joking". Have no recall of how we got back but somehow we did. Then one of my speakers fell on my mates head 🤣. I didn't understand the concept of rawlplugs.

Brilliant day, and days.

Nice post.

Like many I was up at Arsenal.
Sure that was the game we were singing "whats the score Bryan Moore, what's the score."
Fighting our way into the away end terrace before the game and definitely fighting back out after!

Wonder what those who whine about a bit of swearing would have made of those old days- now thankfully long gone... Hopefully
