People can argue black and blue about the guy but anyone that that doesn’t respect him as a musical genius and how much influence he/they have had on music needs a good fucking thrashing.

I can't talk about the Beatles dispassionately because they were such a massive influence on my young life that they feel like part of me. I had a number of Beatles trinkets (Beatles tray, Beatles plastic wig) and used to buy all their singles on Parlophone when they came out.
If their first film "A Hard Days Night" comes on the tele, I urge you to watch it, specially if you are a youngster. It's both a fascinating slice of British social history and a catalogue of their brilliant early music.
