• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

Bidwell was gotten rid of (and incidentally never replaced) because we thought we were too good for him. This is despite the fact that for long periods of time, he was keeping Manning out of the team.

It turns out that actually we aren't too good for him and he is better than Ashby, twice as good as Sorinola and god knows how many times better than Ogbeta.

Bidwell is a decent player for a midtable championship team which is exactly what we are.

Hard working, strong, experienced. Like you say, the kids aren't gonna be rushing out to get his name on the back of their shirt or 'flex' on Twitter about what a wonderful signing he is, however we could do a lot worse and have done a lot worse since he left.

The thing with Ogbeta is that none of us know how good/bad he really is. We just bought him for the sake of buying him. I have loads of possessions in the house which meet the same criteria!

He did as well in League One as many others we've taken on. Very good for Peterborough last season, missed him badly in the playoffs. Very similar profile to Josh Key as a direct running wing back option, but zero interest in him at the club since he arrived, same as Whittaker. Worrying pattern in our recruitment of expensive youngsters in recent years under a series of DOF-types (Scott, Allen, maybe now Watson).
