Tonights Boxing

Terrible stoppage. Ref could easily have given him standing count and let him continue considering this was the first point he'd been remotely rocked / hurt in the ehole fight.

Wardley a few weeks back endured 10x that punishment prior to that stoppage.

I'm a big Usyk fan but that was lucky. If it had been allowed to get to rd12 it does appear Usyk would have won, but its 1 round, with Rico way ahead on the cards!

On that performance he beats plenty of top heavyweights so hope he stays around.

Worst part about the stoppage was the round was basically over as the ref waived it off. Rico was quite literally on the ropes, but still had his hands up defending himself. He was hardly arms down, getting pummeled in the face with serious injury a punch away. A few of Usyk’s punches appeared to be after the bell as well. Just end the round and take it to the 12th; the fight deserved it.

Seems that the other fella was destined to lose by any means necessary.

Just like when Fury fought the other fella from a non boxing background.

Here's my opinion for what it's worth, Usyk don't look himself to me, he mentioned that his Daughters and no doubt his Wife were in a bomb shelter in Ukraine, so can understand his mind being elsewhere.

Verhoeven proved to be a really tough awkward opponent putting Usyk on the back foot throughout the 11 rounds until Usyk's class shone with the speed and power of his punches putting Verhoeven on the floor, ref probably should have let the fight go on, but I reckon Usyk would have finished the fight shortly in the 12th, Verhoeven spat his gum shield out which give him a little bit more time his corner man fumbling with the gum shield helped as well.

It seemed obvious to me that Usyk's mind was elsewhere in the interview after the fight, he seemed miles away when being interviewed.

Verhoeven definitely deserves a re match, he fought well and asked a lot of questions of Usyk and seemed well ahead at the time of the stoppage.

Interestingly, according to Boxrec.com Usyk's place of residence is actually Oxnard, California, USA. If that is true then it seems strange his wife & children are still in Ukraine, not that I am doubting it, just seems strange.

I’m struggling to believe that the world heavyweight champion’s wife and kid are hunkered down in a bomb shelter in Ukraine while he’s defending his title in what was essentially a gimmick fight in Egypt.

I didn't know that, just going on what he said after the bout, maybe his daughter is in Ukraine, need to right my mistake he mentioned Daughter and not Daughters.

I thought it at the time of him saying it as well, I wouldn't have family anywhere near Ukraine if I was him and has his wealth.

People always play the pity card,it’s rampant on X-Factor.
If a black lesbian with no limbs just a head on a chair went on X-Factor they’d win it even if they couldn’t sing.
