Duff was spot on with what he said, his delivery of the message left him open to the backlash he received, not that some of it was warranted.

All 3 relegated sides losing - none of them in the top 6 of the Championship.
All 3 promoted sides outside of the relegation zone in the Premier League.

Long way to go but maybe the ‘closed shop’ was a bit premature. For the neutral it’d be good to see 3 new sides up and down - not sure what it would do the Championship next season mind!

It's getting ridiculous all this bashing of the team and failing to acknowledge when we've done ok.

Over the last few years games against the likes of Leicester and Southampton would be a question of how how many we'd concide.

These days we're competitive and it's not good enough for some.

It’s almost like it’s been manufactured…

It’s clear there are agitators about, some with a motive.

Drama is craved either way, if it can’t be immediate success then immediate failure is the next best thing.

Duff was spot on with what he said, his delivery of the message left him open to the backlash he received, not that some of it was warranted.

It didn't help him that he was a bit of a bellend who suffered from foot in mouth disease. "Front foot" this, "high tempo" that, in his press conferences, then on Saturday his team curling off an absolute steamer pretty much every week.

My favourite was when we went to QPR for a midweek game, I think we drew but we were absolute rubbish, then he said we'd "won the game on xG". That was as deranged as anything Martin ever came out with.

To be honest, I haven’t seen much bashing of us, just people being critical of us in attack which to be fair is shown in the stats after the first ten games.

Personally I think sides like Leicester and Southampton are nowhere near as good as they have been in previous seasons. Other sides have fared better against them but seemingly not us, so I wouldn’t even argue we’ve been competitive against these teams. The point we got up at Southampton was the luckiest result I’ve seen in some time.

I absolutely get that there is a desire for us to be solid and competitive after a few years of being powderpuff and giving away sloppy goals but I don’t think our defence is as strong as the goals against column suggests. We often find ourselves giving up a lot of chances at the end of games at home, it’s like a repeating pattern. Add this to the fact that we can’t seem to score goals and what do we have?

Something just doesn’t feel right with the team at the moment, I hope it’s just a case of needing more games with one another. Would be great if we could click soon.
