Anybody think the race to secure a top 6 place is already cemented with the teams that are in there? Seems a lot of inconsistent teams from 7 downwards and the gap is growing to 6th

It would take a disastrous run of form to cost us a place in the playoffs now, top 2 will take some doing but not unachievable.

Last night secured a place in the play offs in my opinion barring a disastrous run

Barring any serious injuries I can only see us getting better if the new players gel and add something to the squad, top 2.

I think it'll finish Brenturd, Swans, Norwich via play offs.

I'm thinking the same but I wouldn't be surprised if Brentford hit a rough patch. They looked shaky when under pressure yesterday and no-one puts season long runs on in this division.

I think we had our dip but our defence saved us, Norwich are in theirs now so I guess it's down to Brentford to see if they can sustain their form.

Not sure what the stats say, but I would imagine it's better to climb into, as opposed to drop into, the play off spots. Hopefully we keep improving and remove all doubt.

We have to play 3 games against teams in the top 6 (Bournemouth, Reading & Watford all away) and Brentford need to play 4 against teams in the top 6 (Reading, Bournemouth, Norwich & Watford 3 away 1 home)

"no-one puts season long runs on in this division" - but 20 matches in a row without a loss means that they're giving it a pretty good go. Brentford have momentum, so I think they'll finish 1st with us and Norwich fighting for 2nd and 3rd spots. That's not exactly surprising, and Reading and Watford are only 5 points behind us, but I think we've enough to stay ahead of both of those.

Anyone in the top 6 or 7 are quite capable of winning the league, anyone can beat anyone on the day. Got to be honest though, Brentford are putting some impressive scores on the board, and they looked the real deal against us down here. But, we were better than them up at their place earlier in the season.

Fantastic division this is, and has been for donkeys years.

It would take a remarkably bad turnaround in form to see us miss the play offs now. In fact it would probably be us needing to turn promotion form into relegation form in the remaining games.

As was in the other thread yesterday, the difference this time compared to last season is you have three teams pulling clear whereas at this stage last year we have as many points as West Brom had and they were top.

Nobody can deny how good Brentford look at the moment but Norwich were looking almost unstoppable a few weeks back and predicted to pull away but have hit a dodgy spot.

The difficulty now for all teams is the volume of fixtures (I think both us and Brentford have 6 left to play this month starting on Wednesday) I do firmly believe anything could happen but the plus point for the top 3 is that we have all put ourselves in a position where I do believe that the final top 2 will be taken by any 2 of the current top 3

As for the play offs, someone in there almost always starts to implode and a team comes out of the pack with a good run of form. Who it is clearly remains to be seen

I think Hourihane was the final piece of the jigsaw in this seasons team. Plus the emerging form of the likes Grimes and Fulton.
I believe we will finish second behind Brentford

Granted that Brentford are on a hell of a run, but this league doesn't and hardly ever sees that continuing for another 19 games. Inevitable that they'll hit the buffers ,just depends on wether they'll have accrued a decent enough lead to wether it. We are slowly getting better/stronger and without the arrogance that's becoming prevalent from west London, personally I think we'll go up as champs.

Quite obviously the Sleeping Giant in the pack.

Second half points alone should be enough to secure that
