I wouldn't put all eleven of these players in my top ten but they all demonstrated things about the game.

You can get the ball off an attacker without kicking it into touch : Bobby Moore, Colin Todd
Good players can play anywhere : John Charles
Full backs can also attack : Terry Cooper
Let the ball do the work : Glenn Hoddle, Charlie George
Great fitness can make up for lack of skill : Kevin Keegan
Size isn’t that important : Brian Flynn, Bobby Collins
Don’t be afraid to shoot : Peter Lorimer
Heading ability can make up for lack of skill : Tony Hateley
