Thinking of that meeting after a couple of glasses of red wine one thing has struck me. Trump is so easily manipulated. Starmer and Macron pushed the egoists old man’s buttons and did a reasonable job. Vance did a hatchet job on Zelensky by pressing all the buttons. Trump duly flipped. Putin clearly knows how to press the buttons and for quite some time. The big question for me is why traditional Republicans allow this to happen. Clearly spineless. OK bit rambling - blame the Primitivo.

I don't think I saw the same video. I saw the President and VP playing down what actually happened in Ukraine and implying that Putin hasn't really done anything wrong. I would have stuck up for my country if I were Zelensky as well. They didn't like it and turned in to bullies. I don't think Zelensky downed the deal that was more on Trump and more likely Vance for blowing it up.

Putin is eyeing up all territories to rejoin Kaliningrad with Russia, that's a well known fact, and Trump will let it happen.

It will be interesting what the West do in London on Sunday.

He says the right things to stir the "patriots" and they then vote him in.
It would be the same with Farage getting in here.
As others have said Vance looks nailed on to be the next president unless the Yanks come to their senses.
The World looks an uncomfortable place for the next few years.

That’s part of the Trump plan, to make it look like the US are walking away from the support and to make Zelensky set even more favourable terms on any deal. The gamble for Trump is whether the EU up their input and decide to exclude the US from the support network. If this happens then it’s less likely that Trump can get his hands on Ukraine resources. Crazy politics being played out in front of hundreds of millions of people.
