The Trust notes the announcement by the club late yesterday afternoon that Luke Williams has been relieved of his position as Head Coach at Swansea City.

Luke joined the Club late in December 2023 and oversaw some positive work during his time at Swansea. However, over the past few weeks, we recognise that neither the performances nor the results have been consistent enough and therefore understand and agree with the action taken yesterday.

The Trust has talked regularly with the Club about supporter’s concerns with first-team performances and results in the past month, with those talks increasing in the past fortnight. We were informed yesterday lunchtime of the decision to relieve Luke and his coaching team, Ryan Harley and George Lawtey, of their duties.

Everyone at the Trust would like to place on record our sincere thanks to Luke, Ryan and George and wish them and their families all the very best for the future. Recent performances and results aside, we hope supporters will recognise and appreciate the efforts that Luke and his coaching team have made in their time with Swansea City.

As the search for a replacement now begins, we need to find the right person with a good football knowledge to bring the best out of our players. We have shared our view that footballing identity and positive, attacking football are critical qualities in our new head coach. We must look to play in a quicker style and with a purpose that gets supporters up on their feet. These are characteristics that have drawn supporters to watch the Swans in the past and is a style that we’ve taken great pride in. We look forward to welcoming that individual to Swansea City as quickly as it is feasible to do so.

In the meantime, good luck goes to Alan Sheehan and his support staff until a new Head Coach is appointed. We are certain the Jack Army will once again get behind them and the players for our upcoming fixtures beginning at home next Saturday against play-off contenders Blackburn Rovers.

Alan has stood in previously as our interim coach before Luke Williams was appointed and was instrumental in steadying the team around a busy festive period in 2023 including an exciting 1-0 win against promotion chasing WBA. I’m sure we’d all be delighted with something similar to provide us some breathing space so we can aim to finish the season in a positive manner.

We’d also like to take this opportunity to welcome new Director of Football, Richard Montague, who joins today and will be immediately tasked with supporting the recruitment of our next Head Coach. We have routinely emphasised the importance of bringing in a new DoF, and we are delighted to see Richard has now joined the Club.

Finally, following yesterday’s announcement about Luke Williams, we understand the postponement of tonight’s scheduled Fans Forum to Monday 3rd March, more details of which will be provided by the Club in due course.

In the meantime, we’ve encouraged the club to provide regular and clear updates to supporters on the search for a new Head Coach, as well as the longer-term strategy as we head towards the final couple of months of the season.

You'd like to think the trust were told at the time of his departure to give them time to prepare a statement to release not long after the news broke on the official site.

The fact it's been released the following day either suggests they were told as an after thought, they didn't feel releasing a statement sooner was that important or a combination of both.

Either way, they are a complete and utter waste of time.

They probably found out via WOL like most of the rest of us.

Trust blew all chance of consultation when they ignored the membership and started getting rid of shares.
Just to get their day out in the directors box.
Thanks to our Trust board, members who have been in from the beginning, members who are no longer with us and the supporters in general have been totally let down by the decisions taken.
Members now who possibly won't help with fund raising if we ever need it again.

The Trust board have done a number on the supporters that even Petty didn't manage.
We all drew together to beat the b'stard out of the club.
Then some of the saviours, including a Trust top boy, sold us down the river to the yeehaas. They can't be forgiven for that decision, especially Dimwit for failure to give the Trust a heads up.
Trust have caused apathy among the members, past and present, which will filter forward with new members being put off joining.
As I said, a number on the supporters that Petty failed to do and made themselves a non entity in the process

The Trust fawning over the cowardly, shithouse decision not to proceed with the Fans Forum says it all. Pathetic. They are so bought off, it's unreal.

Ten years ago if a stunt like that had been pulled, those running the Trust then would have been at the front of the queue to condemn it for the insult to the fans it is.

They're a (unfunny) joke.

The phrase they use of "footballing identity" that we apparently need shows how much of a relic they are. They are all still living in 2011.

Alot of past and present text in their statement. Not that I have an English degree, but it reads like it was written yesterday and obviously added onto today. As Montague started yesterday at Swans.

'' We were informed yesterday lunchtime of the decision to relieve Luke and his coaching team, Ryan Harley and George Lawtey, of their duties.''

'' We’d also like to take this opportunity to welcome new Director of Football, Richard Montague, who joins today''

' 'understand the postponement of tonight’s scheduled Fans Forum to Monday 3rd March' '

Didn't say Swansea Way though. So take that what you will and identity. Who knows.
