Two games in and yet the knives are out already in some quarters

And yet Wuss was given two full seasons and probably more if he hadn't walked off to a better job and still loved by some on here but duff has a dozen games.

There were pelters out for Martin by September, after about 6 games of him being here to be fair. With hindsight they were right but after 6 games it was completely clueless.

I'll say the same now as I remember saying then. Christmas will be the time to have a proper look at where we're heading under Duff, not before for me. We have lots of new players and a squad I believe to be coming along very nicely, it is however going to take time for this to jelly.

Unfortunately you've contradicted yourself. The ones who called out Russ after 6 games were right all along and should be told so. I wasn't one of those, but ultimately thought he was a fraud.

Yeah you are right, I was very excited by Russ in the beginning and I gave him half a season until it became clear he was bluffing the job.

Duff will get the same, time to see what he can achieve.

Nothing unfortunate about it. I made the point about hindsight, it is indeed a wonferful thing but could very easily have gone the other way. Nobody knew how is would pan out in such a short amount of time and anyone who says otherwise is talking wet.

Some may have been spouting nonsense, but some may have had him spot on. There are some good judges out there.

The flaws in his system were apparent from day one, the only question was whether he would accept the criticism and change. First we were told it was due to the lack of preseason, then he just needed his choice players and everything would magically resolve itself. It's tough to admit when you've been fooled, but the "no one could have possibly known for sure, so people who were right are just as dumb as me" stuff is a bit embarrassing.

Make no bones about it, for 75 minutes on Saturday that was as bad as it gets, it will take time to bed in so many new players, and also taking into account we'll probably lose a couple come Sept 1st.
Having said that, we'll probably have a stronger squad than last season when the dust settles so Duff has a more than decent opportunity to make a good fist of it...

I'm sure there are but what would they actually be judging after 6 games? Martin could have seen sense at any point but didn't. Nobody knew how stubborn he would end up being, apart from possibly his wife or psychiatrist :D

Yeah. OK mate

People booed at his first friendly at Oxford, they booed at HT in his first home game as manager.. we're up there for most weird fans in the league.. maybe he needs Russell's fist pumps to come out soon, empty gestures seems to do the trick for our idiots to god level appraisal

For a bit of perspective, in his last season he finished 10th with the 12th highest wage bill in the division. That's ho-hum, but it's not exactly shite either.

It's not unreasonable to hold the opinion that, ultimately, Martin didn't pull up any trees as Swansea manager - but the way some people talk it's like we've just had Bob Bradley in charge the past two years.

The truth is quite mundane really - he did an ok job, on resources that were the median for the division we are in.

He did an average job but talked world class bullshit, it's as simple as that.

We don't know what the wage bill was last season. Check back in 9 months when every club's accounts are actually published.

Of course it is early but I think also that some people are in for a shock this season. I don't base that shock on Duff's management but I firmly believe some fans think we should be doing far better than we are capable.
