Agreed. If the Americans and or Israelis end up putting boots on the ground it could get pretty ugly for them. Vietnam and Afghanistan didn’t go too well for the west.
The IRGC are religious zealots, reasoning with people who are prepared to die for their cause is a tall order. Chuck in the Basji militia and we could be talking about 750,000 to 1m patriots - that’s a lot of potential suicide bombers etc.

We've already seen how difficult it was to deal with the Taliban and the Mujahideen. There’s currently a lot of conflict in Pakistan, Afghanistan and up in Northern Iran at the moment where Sunny and Shia are targeting each other, imagine what could happen when us westerners aka the “infidels” arrive. They could easily unite and turn against a “horde of occupiers”.

There’s no doubt Iran is a rogue state and was causing a lot of problems throughout the region and further afield and needed sorting, but I’m not sure if what’s happening now is the solution.
