Italian footballing legend.
Played for Sampdoria and Juventus, he won 59 caps for his country.
He held the world transfer record of £12m, when transferring to Juventus.
Vialli joined Chelsea in 1996, becoming player manager in 1998.
He won the League Cup, Cup Winners Cup and the UFFA Super Cup. Vialli also won the FA Cup for Chelsea in 2000.

RIP. My favourite memory was that European Cup away game in Tromsø right up in the Norwegian artic.

To see Vialli score in the snow was a delight.

Horrible disease

RIP. Always seemed to have a smile on his face

For me, one of the stand out figures of 90s football in this country.

Zola took the attention but it was Vialli who led the way for the foreign players in the EPL, not many high level Italians came over to play as they were told they had to play in Italy to represent the national team, they suffered for it until much later in the decade.

He had it all, the skill, the flair and the cheeky Italian jibe.

Dormi bene, Gianluca.
