Vintage Photos

I worked with Spencer’s father in the GPO many, many years ago when I was an apprentice, he was a tidy guy. From Townhill I think.

Some great memories just in one snapshot there .

Way back in the day , The Stranglers , Sparks and so many others who at the time , were on the way up .

Luckily I love live music shows and attending events , still do . Bands at The Rank made it happen .

Some of the visiting groups too , I believe the likes of Deep Purple and The Police , unknown at that time tried to navigate The Kingsway road layout to perform , must have been easier in them days .

Need reminding of The Buccanear though , grey cells are leaving me , Griffin part of The Dragon Hotel and the awesome Prince of Wales next door .

Never ventured to Doras though , bad scene , so I was told , think they also had some good acts on there .

The Buccaneer was attached to The Dolphin Hotel.

Think that is an Anne Summers shop now . :D

Do not remember going there much , The Griffin was the first call on the Kingsway night out .

Still good memories though .
