• Thank you very much | Diolch yn fawr

All at JackArmy.net would like to thank everyone who has played a part on this site over the past 25 years whether that is through writing, contributing, moderating, posting or just visting and reading.

Without any of you the work that has gone into the site would have been pointless and we will always be proud that we built, generated and managed a community that was such a big part of the Swansea City supporting life for so long.

It has been a pleasure to bring to you the site for so long but the time is now right to turn the lights out for the last time but we do it both with a heavy heart and a sense of pride driven by the so many messages received since we announced the closure.

The site will remain here for a period until we archive and mothball it for the last time later this summer but all aspects are in a read only format.

Thank you though for all the memories

    Phil Sumbler
    Owner, jackarmy.net

I've had many a pint in the Angel Grosmont!

I was heading to Abergavenny from Bremen a couple of years ago and was on a Ryanair flight to Stanstead. I noticed that the person sitting next to me had a tattoo of a keyboard on his hand. We struck up a conversation, he said he was off to Sardinia and I said I was heading for Abergavenny. He replied that he used to play gigs there back in the sixties. Turns out it was Blue (Derek) Weaver formerly of Amen Corner. He said that Abergavenny Market Hall was always a "lively" venue.

I was just reading about the Vetch Field project and remembered that I saw this photo on Facebook. Apologies if I shouldn’t share as I don’t know whose photo it is.
Stunning shot. Obviously taken in the summer as I can’t remember that much grass on the pitch during the season. 😉 Another clue is the cricket pitch is being used at St. Helens. 😎

Yep as they say , I was there .

Remember to this day hearing the sound check of Overture as we waited to go in .

It sounded exactly as if on the Remote Control album , which at that time was vinyl .
