I dont think I have ever seen a ball hit with that amount of power. It literally went through the arms of the keeper above his head - and normally you would be pointing the finger at the keeper. HOWEVER in this case the ball was past him before he could soil himself. What a strike!
I also think this puts to bed any debate over who is taking the free kicks around the edge of the box from now on. If you were in the wall and got in the way of that type of shot it might be time for a lie down on the stretcher and a month off.
Agreed. The all time most powerful shot of any Swansea player past and present? It reminded me of Borini scoring against Norwich but he placed his - Vipotnik put the ball through the keeper before he could react. Could turn out to be our most profitable transfer ever seeing as he came on a free. Love the fella !!!

Doubt he will beat Gylfi.

I believe he was valued at £10m, but it was a swap with Ben Davies and we got Vorm too.

Sold for £45m

This is spot on. Today we looked a strong squad we will lose our loanees but also probably 2 of our better players. Then we have to start again rebuilding not knowing if the player will work and then we are in a vicious circle season after season. At some point we have to say no
If we lose Galbraith and Vipotnik we would surely bank in the region of 40 million. With the improvement in recruitment (we’ve bought some gems very cheaply) I foresee us strengthening quite significantly. We can’t resist big offers if the players ambitions are to play in the PL but we finally seem to have returned to buying low and selling high like we used to at the beginning and mostly throughout Jenkins reign here (well until Monk took over at least). We should be optimistic and let them build us a squad fit for promotion and hopefully one that might see us finish 17th or upwards so we can consolidate. If the Snoop Dog and Modric effect starts maximizing our commercial income we could become “the Wrexham of the Premier League”.

Technically, a lot of the money clubs will be put off with Vipotnik's limitations but if our owners can hold off for a season selling one or two of our gems in the summer, just think what that extra couple of percentage points Vitor will add to the quality of our squad next season.

The reaction in the Sky studio after the game and after Vitor's press interview will I have no doubt attract clubs in the summer but if we can retain the core of our squad and put off suitors keen on Vitor's signature in the summer transfer window then we could be quite a force next season.

His only limitation I can see is pace. He hits the ball as hard with both feet and has become good in the air in the box. Plus he can now take free kicks at the speed of sound.

From his interview - “I spoke with Gally and Jay Fulton and they said take it. I wasn’t sure but it went in.”
Do you practice free kicks at fairwood?
“No I don’t practice them. I wasn’t sure but it is what it is”.

So he basically was taking his first free kick and hit is so hard and accurately that it was a blessing one of the defenders didnt lose his head and the goalkeeper came away with two hands.
Remember the days of the Grimes free kick? A distant and awful memory now. What a weapon we have uncovered in our attacking arsenal - anything in that position again he must take it. Unbelievable.

Yeah he only really has the pace thing holding him back a bit. I do think it might put off some PL clubs but then you look at someone like Chris Wood who has managed to find success and also Igor Thiago this season who is not the quickest of movers.

VP may not be the best presser or at getting in behind the line but his hold up play and ability to pass the ball accurately with one touch have improved significantly. Along with his elite ball striking, I definitely think we’ll see interest in the summer.

I could see him fitting Serie A quite well but I wouldn’t be surprised to see West Ham sign him if they stay up and if Nuno is still their coach.

Either way I think we stand to make some good money if we sell him in the summer.

And of course the recruitment of Matos himself felt like the type of manager we used to uncover during the Jenkins era. The abuse they got for that was embarrassing. They had clearly done their homework and spent a long time with him. Suddenly the club feels rich with assets and big potential for success again and we have only really had one summer under these!

West Ham have signed 2 strikers one for
£25 million & £20 million to keep them up .

Yes but they will buy Vipotnik if they really want him, they’re certainly not short of cash. Could turn out that one or both of those strikers isn’t up to it (although one did score at the weekend).

Vipotnik struggles to hold the ball up especially against the more disciplined centre backs but I am convinced Vitor by the start of next season(if both parties are still with the club) will have ironed out this particular weakness.

Other way around, Ben and Vorm went to Spurs and Gylfi went to Swansea.
I remember Utrecht kicking up a huge fuss, they said they had a sell on fee but because it was a player swap deal there was no fee for them to be entitled to.
