Agree. Media/Social Media hype. Same with a good TV series. They never know when to call it a day.

I think they should have a designated day for it like they do for Poppy Day.

"Poppy Day" - Glad you still appreciate the significance of the school cormorant.

Good on them, I think it's the way the media are portraying the George Floyd death, which is getting people so angry..Take the knee is past it's sell by date now.

Whatever happens in the US happens here a month later, anyway, I've had a tit full of BLM and all this knee bending crap.

I couldn’t care less about the knee bending but by doing it over and over and over again they’ve just normalised it and taken the purpose away from it.
It’s a bit like clapping for the NHS,nobody gave a fuck in the end.

What about the "singing the national anthem" trend. One poster was apoplectic when I questioned his directive for us to join in. Some people find it hard to understand that others can support and respect social movements without having to show the neighbours how much one cares.

I certainly think taking the knee has done it's course. If it continues and some people think I've done that i don't need to continue despite other colleagues doing it. They will then be pointed out as someone who doesn't care. As Darren said a bit like the NHS after week 3 my missus was looking out for people who weren't coming to the door.

As you probably know I've been vocal on here in my support of the police since the scrutiny they have come under since the George Floyd incident, but his past and whether he was on drugs or not doesn't come into it. The policeman murdered him, and considering the copper has previous for this type of thing, I believe the reaction was well and truly justified as it just cannot happen again in the future.

Sadly though the movement has gone from a peaceful show of solidarity to something much more than that, which is a shame.

Well according to twitter anyway.

I’m not a big fan of these grandiose yet hollow gestures. If calling a bra “tobacco” colour is an example of covert racism, I also think taking the knee discriminated against those who with restricted mobility who can’t kneel down. What are they supposed to do?

No doubt he contributed to his death, but there's a long way to go before he gets any sort of verdict mate. I just can't see him getting done for murder 1 or 2 once the legal folk have dug in to it.

So where's the leftie snowflake outrage, mass vilification and ruined careers/reputations that we were assured would happen as soon as a team "broke ranks"

Looks like our right-wing snowflakes are inventing it themselves. Bless.

Probably as pissed off as most normal people are with all this false support of BLM.

It says a lot about you that you think you speak for 'most normal people' and that you think support of BLM is 'false'. Some serious projecting going on there.

I never mentioned me speaking for anyone but myself. That was an observation. If you genuinely think all the supporters of BLM including sports people, Tv companies etc are truly supporting BLM 100% then it probably says more about me than you, yes correct. Dawn Butler did more damage this week than she could imagine, people who once supported BLM are walking away, people who never did but had to say it for their own preservation are doing the same. Again, I never said BLM is false. That’s your take on it because personal attacks are where certain people on here go to when they haven’t much else to say. However, the pathetic displays of manufactured racism by so called intelligent people is killing support and breeding a whole new generation of issues.
It’s no longer left v right, and silly insinuations of political leaning, those dinosaur arguments are for the eighties, as I said, there are PEOPLE supporting this movement who only do so because they have to. Read the very small sentence and leave the hidden allegations out of it.
