Wales already has the type of scheme.

This doesnt apply to Wales and Scotland as it is a devolved issue ad the chancellor has no authority to make decisions on this there.

In England you can get a grant of up to £5k, for triple glazing cavity wall and loft insulation.

I await the devolved Welsh government following suit

There will be things you can get in England and not Wales and vice versa. That is what devolution is. We had free prescriptions and travel when England didnt. We had the carrier bag tax before England did. Different governments throughout the UK will prioritise things differently. Under the new Welsh scheme 80% will not pay this tax. The average price of a property in London is £480,000 whereas in Wales it is £160,000 therefore England needs a higher figure.

Isn't the Senedd complaining that Westminster id attacking devolution by grabbing powers coming back from the EU? Though Wales never had them anyway but Westminster did so a power grab, not really.

Mind you, now we aren't getting the M4 releif road it's good to see they are probably going to start congestion charging on the M4. I mean, why do something to help businesses in Wales when you can raise taxes instead and put people off.

If you were living in Newport and affected I am sure you would be delighted to have the M4 built but then the people of Newport sholdnt count should they. Do what is best for business and to hell with the residents affected is not my motto.

Not just us living in Newport but the whole of South Wales would benefit from the relief road.
