On Friday’s game, when we were 3-1 down, one would have expected to see Walta coming as a substitute to make an impact (you could see him warming up on the sideline) but he wasn't.

You can’t argue with the substitution made but it makes me wonder if there is a number of games clause that will make the loan move a permanent one and VM is not that sure whether he wants to reach that number.

Its a speculation of course but in the cameos he’s made so far, he looked a little bit lost and out of his depth.

A bit like Eom, Ronald and Widell when they joined then.

Ronald actually started quite impressively.

I remember him demanding from Naughton how and where he wanted the ball played to him over the top and him running at players far more than he does now. I wouldn't say that he has gone backwards but he hasn't progressed getting better at the defensive side of the game but seemingly losing attacking confidence in the process.

Widell I know went through a series of bulking up exercises and needed some time to get used to the faster pace of the Championship and that is starting to show in the second half of the season.

According to the Indy Walta is going through a similar program at the moment

Anyone doubting Walta, try reading the Adam Idah article posted on his thread.

That should give some perspective before writing off a player.

Nobody write hm off. There is a difference between him and Idah: he is on a load, and i am only wondering about his permanent future with us.

Think it’s worth considering that midfield is easily the most competitive area in our squad and Walta will be competing for only one spot with Franco looking undroppable. I think he’s just having a slow start as Matos has picked him before, there is obvious talent there. Hopefully that international form will give him some confidence.

Was watching that interview Matos did with Rob Phillips and he was talking about players who can come in and make an immediate impact, wonder if this could mean we move away from recruitment of younger players from abroad and start looking at “experience?” It’ll probably be a good mix of both in reality.

Sorry, first part of your sentence is nonsense.

Loads on are too quick to judge a player.

They explained when signing Walta it was an initial loan with a permanent deal in the summer.

Again, i was wondering about Matos. I have no issue with Walta

He may be in a competitive area but with his stats at other clubs they are obviously hoping he's going to be this creative goalscoring midfield player we are so desperately craving.

100% agree. I speculated about the appearance based clause a few weeks ago. Matos just clearly doesnt fancy him and I dont entirely blame him aswell to be completely honest.

Seriously? How can anyone judge him on the amount of minutes we have seen on the pitch so far.

Matos clearly has? I remember saying that he played more minutes for us before his PNE hooking at HT then all of the games after that combined.

How do you explain that other then the manager losing trust in you?
