Of course there's more. But i don't think it's anything sinister. Watford sack managers for fun, but i'm guessing on this occasion Pearson was to strong a personality for them, or maybe they're trying to wangle out of paying him a bonus for keeping them up? Neither would surprise me, They're a shifty lot.

But if a sh*t season for them though, so is it so surprising? They’ve had spells doing far better, so I expect they’re aiming higher than just avoiding relegation.

He's the 3rd manager this season and has a higher win % of any since they've been back in the prem.

This is a bit odd. Did they sack him before Bournemouth lost at home to Southampton?
Watford have a 3 point and several GD advantage over Bournemouth and Villa but play Man City at home in the last game. Do you think they've sacked him in an effort to create a little bit of new manager bounce and the hope of avoiding a 6-0 drilling?

He was due a very large bonus at the end of the season if they were still in the Premier League. As he's not their manager at the end of the season, presumably he doesn't get the bonus. But if they're relegated that becomes irrelevant anyway. Stupid decision with only two games to go.
