Well probably see Christie in on a free & 2 loan signings… IF we’re lucky enough.

I've lowered my expectations to zero now when it comes to this club.

It seems like we’ll sign 1 player for 1M a season in the hope they’ll turn into a superstar and sell for x10 that, shite model imo.

It's clear the initial strategy of acting as if we didn't want to sell Piroe in order to secure the highest return as possible has failed, and as of last Saturday we have moved to phase two of the strategy i.e. issuing a 'come and get him' plea which means he will be sold for far less than the initial hopes to Watford. It's only a matter of time.

They've made the prospect of him leaving seem a bit more palatable to fans by showing us what a dystopian catastrophe keeping him and having to make do with the current squad would be.

To be fair, he’s shown us what a dystopian vision his own contribution to us might be. We overrate him in my view. He hasn’t the pace or skill for the PL and he had a golden period of finishing things last year. I always thought Downes and a properly managed Cabango might be our PL capable players, maybe Oba if he keeps progressing and keeps his head and weight right, although Cabango lacks the gas too. Downes always looked like he had time.

To be fair Piroe sometimes looks like that too, so he might make it. If you were top end championship or PL would you risk 10m on Piroe? I’m not sure I would without having a bloody good look at options from other teams. The worst of all worlds is we can’t sell him and he keeps playing like a drain.

No doubt about that.

Why would we bring Christie back when Wood at the first opportunity further up the park, on Saturday, skinned the fullback with pace and power to get in behind the opposition back line, cannot remember Christie doing so when on loan only remember him struggling to chase back to help defensively.
And the age difference.

We, and specifically Piroe are missing Paterson’s creativity badly. His finishing was sublime at times last season and many of his opportunities were set up by Paterson.

The lack of creativity last Saturday was frightening. Ntcham wasn’t allowed a kick and that ended our threat.

I’d actually forgotten about Paterson. Wonder if he’s in a strop about being the one that lost us two points…

Piroe had quite a few chances this season and has finished like a Schechter. Which is the real one? Brewster finished like a dream for us for half a season, he’s been gash in Sheffield.

Aye, Paterson already has an assist this season without being in a match day squad.

Impressive.

Playing too deep and wasting too much energy as a result imo. When he does make runs on a counter he’s never picked up due to the inevitable sideways safety pass.

Preston are asking for 10M for their danish striker who’s 2 years older than Piroe.

The thing is, even if we had £3m in the bank would you trust Russ with it?

Probably end up with another keeper.

I wonder whether we will ever see Paterson again under Russ. He's known for his sulking and Martin likes to hold grudges.

Just add him to the sit at home on matchday list. Bennett, Ogbeta, Brandon Cooper and it would be those on loan if they were still around

Should have never extended Pato's deal, he's not interested in SCFC just himself, he's not unique in that I know, but at least 65-70% of the time he's a waste of space, IMHO
