I'm not negative about the team, I very much like Vic Tomato's direction of travel. But we shouldn't get ahead of ourselves. We're eight points off the relegation zone, but six of the eight clubs below us have one or more games in hand. And with the exception of Wednesday, they are all scrapping like hell to stay up.

I watched Portsmouth and WBA away at Watford and Derby respectively this week, and neither club is going to go quietly into that goodnight. They both fought out tough 1-1 draws against teams higher up the league, and both draws were deserved. Lets see if we can do the same at Hull.

We are not in relegation trouble at all, the opposite. I’m looking up not down. The squad is playing to its potential now and this manager choice looks spot on. Today will be tough but over the course of the season we will be closer to playoffs than 22nd. If the league started when Matos took over we would be 4th or 5th. I think we finish around 10th.

Not like you to be pessimistic.
You could have said the same last season
Goals came from Eom , Cullen , Key , Ronald .
We are 2 points better off than last season before today's game .
Cardiff who went down were on 31 points from 29 games we were 34 points from 29 games .
With so many teams below us we only need to match a couple of those .
Hi Malc,

no criticism of Vitor, quite refreshing to see an attacking brand of football but - a failure to take our chances at home or away have certainly prevented the team from failing to take points especially when the performance warranted it.
Will Nunes be the catalyst to scoring or assisting that would increase the one goal a game on a regular basis, bearing in mind that the relegation bar is probably going to be equal to that saw Brum relegated(50 points), or even one or two points more.
What needs to be remembered is that if we don't increase our ratio of goals scored and assists, pressure will be ramped up as games count down to the end of the season.

I'm not saying your criticising Matos just your pessimistic about staying up .
The bottom 6 for me will be Sheffield Wednesday , Oxford , Blackburn , Charlton ,
Portsmouth , West Brom .
Agree Portsmouth home form is key for them , they play Southampton tomorrow.

The odd goal from Tymon , Cabango, Burgess. And Stamenic would help .
