..with the current squad. To be fair he's changing the culture but surely there's only so much he can do with the current players at his disposal ?

A few on here recently were eyeing the play offs 🤔.

No way without some better quality in, and mediocre/poor out. Gonna have to wait for the summer methinks and hope for owners cash... in the meantime keep going Vitor, albeit with one hand behind your back I'm afraid. Just achieve mid table and you'll have done well.

I don't think I'm being negative here, just realistic

I never thought we were good enough for the playoffs. We're lower mid table and that's where we'll end up.
What's more interesting is whether or not the owners will back Vic Tomatoes in the summer, and whether or not he has an eye for two or three undiscovered gems.

It’s a strange league this year with very little to choose between 20+ teams

No reason the team/squad couldn’t have been in the top 10 when you consider Preston, Millwall, Hull & Wrexham are in there.

With the start we had I’d happily take 12th-16th as long as we show signs of improvement in the final 3rd in the second half of the season.

Anywhere near the top ten I'd be delighted. I'd also be delighted to stay up.

It would be nice for us to get in to a place where can have one eye on next season and look to start building something which I feel we ca with Matos and the owners.

Other than Wrexham in 9th all our wins have come against the teams 16th and lower. Good news is that we have pretty consistently beaten those other bottom teams. And we’ve been competitive enough against the top sides since Matos took over even if we’ve eventually lose those games.

We look fine, not pulling up any trees but good enough to stay away from the relegation battle. Next couple of home games are very winnable too, although the away games remain tricky against some more playoff chasing sides.

I think of this as a consolidation period. Never have I expected to be in with a chance of play offs let alone promotion although either would be bloody amazing. Top 10 would be my hope but its a tight league this year. I will be happy to see steady improvement and confident performances.

Not expecting anything, have built up my hopes at the start of each season and honestly since Cooper left have been disappointed each season. Thought this year may have seen some improvement, but as a club we have been stagnating for years, with very little sign of an improvement in league position. This season has been another tedious bore fest ,with it being evident from quite early on it was going to be another struggle. Come the end of the season, we could well lose some of our better players , Galbraith, Vipotnik (maybe) and if i was Vigoroux i would certainly look for a move, he's far too good to be playing here.

A good period of stability will do me just fine. Fed up of the continual revolving door with our managers.
Just hope that Matos sticks around for a few seasons makes a good fist of things, and gets the backing from them lot upstairs. Probably won't happen, here's hoping eh! Onwards and upwards.👍

This season is about survival and building more of an identity under Matos. He has done fantastic job since coming in with everything that's gone on. Realistically anything around 12th or there abouts would be hell of a achievements.

This squad not being able to challenge the top 6 this season is another season wasted in my opinion it's a mentality issue more than an ability issue I think

Quality of the championship is of a poor standard this season. Or more of a level standard I should say
There’s not one outstanding side
With this squad, I must confess I was optimistic of a play off push. When you see the likes of Millwall, Preston and Hull up there, without being entitled we should be doing much better.

I'm still not entirely convinced we're not still in bounce territory in terms of the increased work rate (but that's not because of Matos, it's because I don't trust these players) but I think we are going to be ok. I fancied we'd finish 12th-15th and that's still where I expect us to be.

What I would love more than anything is for us to get to the end of the season comfortable enough to say yes, this guy looks the real deal, so let's ship a few out and get a few in and hopefully push for top 10 next year. With no mishaps, no dramatic long losing runs out of nowhere. Just a good manager, building quietly, and looking like he might hang around for more than 18 months. My expectations are no more ambitious than that. For now anyway.
