Firstly, Matos has achieved his first objective - staying up. But what happens next?

Does he start building for next season and giving minutes to Walta, Woodward etc?

Problem is we have currently lost 2 and have horrible fixtures left. If we end up winning just 1 of our last 8/9 games, how does that set us up for next season?

Why not try a diamond? The wingers offer nothing anyway.

Sheff Utd

We probably need 2 wins, QPR, Charlton the most likely.. Leicester, Sheff Utd and Norwich are beatable.. Southampton and Middlesbrough we'll just turn up most probably and start stroking it about like a geriatric session for over 75s if the 2nd half is anything to go by.. then we can hopefully watch Wales in another World Cup, but beware Cabango will probably start against Bosnia, but after today's performance, Bellamy will pick Lawlor on current form

We won’t go down if we lose all 7 games. Oxford need 14 points to overtake us, not going to happen. Portsmouth are collapsing in a heap.

What points did third relegation spot teams get in the last few seasons?
I can't see us adding more than 3 points to our current total.
Not sure what the 3 point prediction is based on?

You have to be horrendously bad to lose 6 of the last 7 games in an EFL season with so many teams either with nothing to play for or struggling under pressure at either end of the table.

Nothing we’ve seen in the last 4 months suggests we’re a horrendously bad team. I doubt we’ll match the previous PPG in Matos’ reign but I’d also be amazed if we didn’t pick up 7-10 points in the remaining games.

I think we'll lose all our away games for a start, because we're pretty shyte away from home. If you think Leicester are going to fold, think again, they are fighting for their lives and gave us a good hiding earlier in the season. They are only down there through a points deduction.
Do you think we'll get anything at home to Boro or Saints? Both are fighting for promotion, they are not on the beach. I hope we'll beat Charlton, as long as they're not needing a point or three to stay up.
And please don't accuse me of taking pleasure in the Swans doing badly, that is nonsense and insulting. I've supported this club since 1965, I'm a season ticket holder and I hate it when we lose, just hate it, it spoils my whole week. I'm just calling it as I see it, based on two massively disappointing performances in our last two games, when all our faults were glaringly apparent.

Pego, if anyone thinks you're taking pleasure out of the swans doing badly that's on them, your passion for the club is there for everyone to see.

Personally feel we're more than safe and will pick a few more wins before now and the end of the season. The teams below us have too much to do with few games left to catch and over take us.

But lets face it we were not outplayed and overrun in either of those games.....like yesterday we started the better side creating chances early on which we failed to convert....those early goals happen in either game and its a whole different ball game.
Yesterday once again the ref was questionable....allowing Coventry players to haul our players to the fllorr whilst waving play on gives a very dubious pen.
Eom trying to dribble his way from the byeline led to their second.....
Yes we arent a top 6 side yet but hell Matos hasnt had even half a season here.
Sheehan had been here for 2 and a half seasons when he "rescued" us.

Not sure where the last paragraph has come from. I didn’t say anything of the sort.

My point was that predicting the last 6/7 games in any EFL season is pretty futile as they rarely follow the pattern of the previous 40. Only have to look at Sunderland last season to see the extreme example of it. As such I’d expect us to win, lose and draw 2/3 of the remaining games - trying to predict where we’ll get points is fun/interesting for fans but the reality is we could quite easily beat Boro & Saints and lose the Charlton

I just don’t see any evidence, even in the last two games where we’ve missed numerous chances, to suggest the form would drop so far of a cliff that we’d end with 1 win in 10. Obviously I may be wrong and I’d be as gutted as you and everyone else on here if that happened,

No way we will go down. Yes we are an unpredictable team and need replacments in the summer, but putting a few decisions aside yesterday, the penalty and poor clearance from Eom, we could of easily scored from Tymon and Widell bar shots. Franco near miss and VP. I am not saying we will get lots of points and we have a lot of tough fixtures but we are not going down now.

You're not one of those being referred to in the last para, sorry if you thought you were.

I'm not saying we'll go down either, I was just asking out of interest where the mark was that we need to reach based on previous seasons.
